The world of BDSM has so many labels and definitions and while I don’t like to conform to labels; I don’t mind using some of them when they are the correct fit. Let’s look at some of the most commonly used words to describe a woman like myself:
Fem Domme: first and foremost I am asked about this one. A fem domme is simply a FEMale DOMinant. That’s the definition. A woman that is dominant in her sex life and/or relationships and/or play.
Domina: Another term used for a sexy dominant woman. Usually this woman has some sass like our very own Mistress Ryan of www.femdomcalls.com .
Mistress: Not to be confused with the term commonly used for the ‘other woman’; Mistress is the term used for a woman that ‘wears the pants’ in a d/s (dominant/submissive) relationship. My name is The Scarlet Mistress; now you know just one of the reasons why.
Domme: A term related to the word ‘dom’ which is short for Dominant. Usually; men are referred to as dom and women as domme. If you have ever spoken with me about my personal life; you’ll find that I usually describe myself as a ‘lifestyle domme’. That is my preferred term but I will accept any of the above as well.
What does a fem domme do? Anything she damn well wants to do, that’s what! But seriously; every fem domme is different in how she rules her world and her men. There are several activities that I personally enjoy that are a staple of most fem dommes:

I like how you called it “Female Dominance.” I have heard others call it “Female Domination” but that can be a bit ambiguous about who is dominating whom.
